These little beautiful fishes become available to aquarists in the 1930s and for today they can be found in every tropical fish stores. They came from South America with size mostly 4cm. Flakes and small livefoods are ideal diet for them and the temperature must be 20–26°C. They are very social to other fish species, not dangerous and with most other tetras, they are shoaling fish and will thrive in groups, tending to occupy the midwater region of the aquarium.
